I know, the name might be a little strange, but I was looking at these, and thinking, it's really like window shopping, just taking a very few items (or beads) and showcasing them.
I made two pairs of earrings to go with the necklace below, these are the first. Just some really striking bluegreen glass barrel beads, I bent a wire headpin around to give them a frame, and then hung that on multiple jump rings to give them a nice swing. And they are hung on hooks made from headpins. I find you can make a lot out of headpins, love them!
These too were put together on headpins, and they are hooked loosely so there is plenty of swing. More muted colors here, the interest point comes above the top bead where I twisted the headpin in a corkscrew before hooking it to the pre-made french wire.
And both of these go with this necklace. I'd gotten some cord for another project, which I discovered wouldn't work because the cord was too fat to fit through the beads...yes, well, that's how we learn. I also had these beads though, just a few, but they were so pretty, I wanted to use them.
In this close-up you can see better, I used headpins again, to make a wire hanger for each bead, which I then strung on the cord and knotted the cord to hold them in place. Side-note, when I made the clasps on the end, I made a know, then dripped a drop of bead fix glue on it....and then there was smoke and an awful chemically smell that made me cough horribly. Apparently there's something on the cord that reacted to whatever was in the glue. So, now I don't put my face right up to where I'm gluing, just in case :D Cough, wheeze... Anyway, another project!
